Mehmet Emir Cengiz overcomes stuttering to become professional presenter

Mehmet Emir Cengiz, a 22-year-old from Konya, has successfully overcome severe stuttering through expert support and disciplined practice to build a professional career in hosting and voiceover work.

Cengiz focused heavily on diction studies during the COVID-19 pandemic and participated in diction camps during his high school years. His daily routine included tongue twister exercises and diaphragm training to improve his speech and rhetoric. For the past two years, he has worked professionally, hosting programs for public institutions and municipalities, such as Karatay Municipality, and providing voiceovers for social media content.

Currently in the United Arab Emirates for language training, Cengiz shared that his efforts to achieve fluent speech have transformed his life. He encourages others facing similar challenges to focus on their individual processes.

Süleyman Kocaoğlu, a research assistant at Necmettin Erbakan University, noted that stuttering is a common speech disorder often appearing between the ages of 2 and 5, characterized by sound repetitions or syllable prolongations.
