Mehmet Kaya defends MKA Grup over Tokat real estate auction

Mehmet Kaya, Chairman of MKA Grup İnşaat, has issued a formal response to allegations regarding a real estate auction in the Güneşli neighborhood of Tokat. The auction, conducted by the Tokat Municipality under the State Tender Law, involved a property that had failed to attract bidders in two previous attempts.

In the third auction held on August 11, 2026, MKA Grup İnşaat was the sole bidder, offering a price above the estimated value. The final auction price was set at 365,825,000 TL, with a total financial obligation reaching approximately 432 million TL after including taxes and legal fees. The payment structure involves a 25 percent down payment followed by 12 equal installments.

Kaya addressed claims of bid-rigging and unfair negotiations, asserting that the process was transparent, competitive, and compliant with legal regulations. He noted that the process has undergone audit by the Court of Accounts (Sayıştay). Additionally, Kaya stated that he and his family have applied to judicial authorities following threats, blackmail, and defamation campaigns directed at him and his company.
