Mehring company to craft furniture for Pope Leo XIV's visit

The Santa Fe-based family company Mehring has been commissioned to manufacture furniture for Pope Leo XIV during his upcoming visit to Argentina. The order, received through a Cotolengo Don Orione working group, includes one armchair and two chairs.

The furniture will be crafted from guatambú, a native wood primarily sourced from Misiones. According to owner Gustavo Mehring, the wood was selected for its durability and aesthetic qualities. The production process will combine industrial precision for cutting and assembly with artisanal techniques to create these unique pieces.

The Vatican has officially confirmed the Pope's tour of Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru from November 6 to 17. His visit to Argentina is scheduled to take place between November 8 and 11.
