MEI music festival in Faenza to host premiere of Paolo Benvegnù docufilm

The MEI – Meeting delle Etichette Indipendenti, a major Italian independent music festival, is taking place in Faenza from October 1 to 4. The event features a variety of musical crossovers, industry forums, and educational masterclasses.

A highlight of the festival is the national premiere of ‘Quando passa Paolo’, a docufilm dedicated to the life and career of musician Paolo Benvegnù. Directed by Pierpaolo Scuro and Marco Olivotto, the film explores Benvegnù’s 30-year musical journey, from his time with Scisma to his solo career and his 2024 Targa Tenco win, following his passing on December 31, 2024.

Other festival activities include the ‘Fiera del disco’ at Palazzo del Podestà, the ‘MEI TALK’ series covering topics such as artificial intelligence in art and emotional intelligence for musicians, and the ‘Edicolacustica’ musical newsstand. Additionally, the singer Birthh is scheduled to receive the ‘Premio Giovani MEI-Exitwell’ and the ‘Premio Italiano Videoclip Indipendente’.
