Yuzuki Yoshizawa wins first professional title at Hokkaido meiji Cup

Yuzuki Yoshizawa secured her first professional tour victory at the Hokkaido meiji Cup held at the Sapporo Kokusai Country Club. Entering the final day tied for the lead with Yuka Yasuda, Yoshizawa shot a 69, featuring five birdies and two bogeys, to finish at 8-under par.

The win marks a significant turnaround for the 22-year-old, who struggled during her rookie year in 2024 with 15 consecutive missed cuts. Reflecting on her journey, Yoshizawa noted, "I think I am who I am today because of that experience."

During the final round, she maintained composure despite the pressure, specifically noting a crucial birdie on the difficult 15th hole, which she described as "a gift from God." Following her victory, she expressed a desire to continue working hard in Japan before eventually pursuing major international championships.
