Međimurje community initiatives focus on childcare and ecology

In the Međimurje region of Croatia, local community initiatives are focusing on early childhood development and environmental awareness.

The Municipality of Rešetari has provided new equipment and furniture for the Čarobni svijet Kindergarten. The project, valued at 60,852.00 EUR, was funded through a combination of a 39,836.00 EUR grant from the Ministry of Demography and Migration and 21,016.00 EUR from the municipality's own funds. The investment aims to improve the working conditions for staff and create a safer, more stimulating environment for children.

In Čakovec, the Nikola Zrinski Library has opened a ‘Green Wardrobe’ within its children's department. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Međimurje Nature, features a specialized collection of books focused on nature, ecology, environmental protection, and sustainable development. The goal is to foster ecological awareness in children from an early age by providing easy access to literature regarding the preservation of the planet.
