Mein Schiff Flow christened in Trieste with three female godmothers
TUI Cruises formally added the new cruise ship Mein Schiff Flow to its fleet during a public christening ceremony in Trieste, Italy. The event, held on 22 June, featured the traditional champagne bottle smash, a fireworks display over the bay and live‑stream coverage.
For the first time in the company’s history three women – Julia, Annabelle and Karin – served jointly as godmothers, representing the diversity of TUI’s guests. They wore couture dresses selected by designer Guido Maria Kretschmer. CEO Wybcke Meier said, “The baptism of a new ship is always a special moment full of emotion, pride and anticipation.”
Mein Schiff Flow is the second vessel of the InTUItion class, built by Italy’s Fincantieri with dual‑fuel technology and advanced environmental systems. It will begin its inaugural Mediterranean season in the summer, followed by a winter programme operating from northern Germany.
