Mekong agriculture and fisheries cooperation discussed in Thailand

A workshop titled “One River, One Prosperity: Sustainable Mekong Agriculture and Fisheries Development in the 21st Century” was held at Ubon Ratchathani University on September 11. The event focused on food security and the development of a logistics and economic corridor connecting the Mekong region, Northeast Thailand (Isan), and Central Vietnam.

Discussions emphasized the importance of cross-border agricultural and fishery value chains and the need for connectivity through both transportation and cultural ties. Vietnam Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung noted that the theme reflects the shared responsibilities and mutual interests of nations sharing the Mekong River.
