Vietnam food and beverage market shows recovery amid consumer polarization
The food and beverage (F&B) industry in Vietnam is experiencing a recovery with growing production and purchasing power. According to Vietnam Report, the food market is projected to reach approximately 104.2 billion USD in 2026. While industrial production indices for food processing and beverage manufacturing have shown growth in 2025 and early 2026, the market is becoming increasingly polarized among businesses. Consumers are becoming more selective, with 60.1% prioritizing clear product origin and traceability.
In the agricultural sector, commodity prices are showing varied trends. Pepper prices in Vietnam remain relatively stable, with prices in Lam Dong reaching 141,000 VND/kg, while Dak Lak saw a slight decrease to 139,000 VND/kg. In the Mekong Delta, rice prices have seen mixed movements; while some raw export rice varieties like CL 555 and IR 504 experienced slight decreases, fresh paddy prices for varieties such as OM 18 and OM 5451 recorded increases.
