Mekong Delta rice prices remain stable amid quiet trading

Rice and paddy prices in Vietnam's Mekong Delta remained stable with little fluctuation during the period of September 1–2, 2026. The market experienced quiet trading activity, partly attributed to the holiday season, which led to a temporary pause in purchasing by traders in provinces such as An Giang.

Export raw rice prices showed consistent levels across various varieties. OM 5451 was priced between 9,300 and 9,400 VND/kg, while IR 504 and CL 555 both ranged from 8,900 to 8,950 VND/kg. Other varieties included OM 18 at 8,700–8,850 VND/kg and Dai Thom 8 at 9,200–9,400 VND/kg.

In local markets, retail rice prices remained steady. Premium varieties like Nang Nhen reached 28,000 VND/kg, while Jasmine rice was priced between 16,500 and 18,000 VND/kg. The sticky paddy market also saw minimal movement, with OM 34 ranging from 5,900 to 6,000 VND/kg and OM 18 at approximately 6,600–6,700 VND/kg.
