Mel Maia to play spy in Avenida Brasil sequel

Mel Maia is set to portray the character Jussiele in the upcoming sequel to the Brazilian telenovela Avenida Brasil, scheduled for 2027. In the new plot, Jussiele will act as a spy for the antagonist Carminha, played by Adriana Esteves, within the Divino neighborhood.

The partnership between the characters is expected to begin early in the story following a crime committed by both. Jussiele will serve as Carminha’s eyes and ears, using disguises to monitor local residents and relay information to the villain.

A primary target of this surveillance will be the marriage of Nina and Jorginho, which is depicted as being in crisis at the start of the series. The character of Jussiele is expected to approach Jorginho with ulterior motives, leaving her true intentions regarding Carminha’s orders and her own financial interests uncertain.
