Mela Muter exhibition to feature 230 works at Villa La Fleur

To mark the 150th anniversary of her birth, the Villa La Fleur Museum in Konstancin-Jeziorna will host a major monographic exhibition titled ‘Mela Muter. Współodczuwanie świata’. Running from September 19, 2026, to February 28, 2027, the exhibition will feature over 230 works by the prominent 20th-century artist.

Mela Muter, born Maria Melania Klingsland in Warsaw, was a significant figure associated with the École de Paris. The international project is being organized in collaboration with the Musée de Montmartre in Paris, where the exhibition will travel following its run in Poland.

Curator and Villa La Fleur director Artur Winiarski describes her work as one of the most moving phenomena in art from the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition aims to reintroduce her legacy to a wider audience, highlighting her role in the international Parisian art scene and her connection to Polish culture.
