Melaka B40 Youths Receive IATAC Pilot Training Scholarships
Twenty B40 children from Melaka were awarded fully‑funded cadet pilot training worth nearly RM10 million by the International Aero Training Academy (IATAC). Four of the recipients, including 19‑year‑old Muhammad Afiq Danish Anis, were selected as pioneer cadet pilots during an orientation ceremony at IATAC’s Batu Berendam facility, which was attended by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
The state government said the sponsorship is a strategic investment to uncover aviation talent among low‑income families and to create career pathways in the industry. In the same event, 30 other Melaka youths received nursing scholarships from King University College, further expanding local employment opportunities.
The programme aims to develop a pipeline of future pilots from the historically under‑represented B40 group, with the government pledging continued support for additional cohorts.
