Melania Trump announces $2M foster care scholarship initiative

During the event, which coincided with the upcoming IndyCar Freedom 250 Grand Prix, she unveiled a $2 million scholarship fund for youth transitioning out of the foster care system.
The funding is provided through a partnership with IndyCar and Fox Corporation, with each entity contributing $1 million. These scholarships will specifically support students at Indiana University and Purdue University. The initiative, which has expanded to include 26 educational institutions, aims to provide foster youth with the tools for higher education and long-term economic independence.
Addressing recent media speculation regarding her low public profile, the First Lady joked to the press, ‘I heard you missed me. Here I am.’ Her appearance alongside President Donald Trump marks their first joint public outing since mid-July.
