Melbourne Braces for Blustery, Rainy Weather as Cold Fronts Sweep Victoria

A series of cold fronts is moving across Victoria, bringing snow to the Victorian Alps and ending the recent spell of sunshine in Melbourne. The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts a high of 17 °C on Saturday, followed by drizzle, strong northerly winds and cooler temperatures on Sunday.

Meteorologist Helen Reid said Monday will see the heaviest showers, with some areas receiving up to 15 mm of rain and double‑figure rainfall totals across much of the state. Temperatures are expected to drop further, with Melbourne’s high falling to about 14 °C by Wednesday. The system is driven by two low‑pressure areas that will push the cold fronts through the region over the next few days.
