Daisy Pearce re-signs as West Coast Eagles AFLW coach

Daisy Pearce West Coast Eagles AFLW contract extension women's football

West Coast Eagles AFLW coach Daisy Pearce has signed a two-year contract extension, committing to the club until the end of the 2028 season. Pearce, a former Melbourne premiership captain, expressed gratitude to the club for its support and understanding regarding her family during the decision-making process.

Since taking over the coaching role in late 2023, Pearce has led the Eagles to their first-ever AFLW finals appearance. Despite a difficult 0-4 start to the current season, the team has secured four wins in their last five matches, keeping them in contention for a top-eight finals spot with three rounds remaining.

Club legend John Worsfold praised Pearce’s coaching capabilities, noting she possesses the skillset required to potentially become the first woman to head coach an AFL team.
