Melbourne father slashed with samurai sword during home invasion
A father in Werribee, Melbourne, was hospitalized with facial injuries following a home invasion on September 7. Two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, allegedly entered the residence by climbing a side fence and forcing their way through the garage.
During the incident, the intruders demanded car keys. As the victim, Gof Sritanaamorn, attempted to protect his wife and seven-year-old daughter, one of the teenagers allegedly slashed him across the face with a samurai sword. The teenagers reportedly took the keys to the family’s Mazda but struggled to start the vehicle for over 20 minutes.
According to the victims, the teenagers returned to the house to demand that Sritanaamorn help them start the car. He complied in an attempt to facilitate their departure and ensure his family's safety. Police arrived shortly after, leading to the arrest of both suspects. It was revealed in Children’s Court that one of the teenagers had appeared in court just hours before the attack while on bail.
