Wildwood shooting: Police search for man allegedly shot and abducted

Victoria Police have launched an urgent search for a 56-year-old man from Meadow Heights who is believed to have been shot and abducted northwest of Melbourne. The incident occurred on Wednesday night at a property on Wildwood Road following an argument.

Authorities allege a 55-year-old man shot the victim before placing him in the back of a black Mitsubishi Triton and driving away. CCTV footage captured the vehicle at service stations in Greenvale in the early hours of Thursday morning. The victim, described as being of Middle Eastern appearance and wearing dark clothing, remains missing.

A 55-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Wildwood Road early Thursday and is being interviewed by detectives. During the investigation, police discovered burnt clothing at a suspicious fire site on Lancefield Road, which is believed to belong to the suspect. Specialist units, including the Air Wing and Dog Squad, are currently conducting search operations in the Sunbury area.
