Melbourne hosts Cartier exhibition at National Gallery of Victoria
Melbourne is hosting several cultural attractions in late September, most notably a major Cartier exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). The exhibition, a collaboration with London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, features nearly 400 items including jewelry, watches, and clocks that trace the history of the French design house since its 1847 founding.
Key pieces on display include the 1907 Sun Tiara, the 2012 Berenice emerald tiara, and various items worn by royalty and Hollywood stars. The collection highlights signature Cartier styles such as the panther and the Indian-inspired ‘Tutti Frutti’ design. The exhibition is scheduled to run until October 4.
Other local activities include exploring laneway art and the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, providing cultural alternatives to the city's AFL grand final festivities.
