Melbourne to host major infrastructure sustainability and productivity events in 2026

The Infrastructure Sustainability Council will co‑host the Greener Infrastructure Conference (GIC) on 28‑29 October 2026 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The two‑day event, linked with Waste Expo Australia, will bring together government officials, industry leaders and sustainability experts to discuss decarbonisation, circular‑economy approaches, resilient procurement and emerging technologies for infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand. More than 100 exhibitors are expected, and ISC members receive registration discounts.

The Future Building and Infrastructure Summit (FBIS26) is scheduled for 10‑11 August 2026, also in Melbourne, and is organized by Lean Construction Australia and New Zealand. The summit will focus on improving construction productivity through better planning, coordination and collaborative delivery models. Speakers include Matthew Gault (CEO, VIDA Rail), Chris Lunson (RoadTek), former ACA CEO Jon Davies, and international experts such as James Pease and Neal Symmons. Roundtables will explore client roles, procurement, governance and ecosystem‑wide conditions affecting project outcomes.
