Melbourne Victory to host FC Seoul in AFC Champions League Two

Melbourne Victory is set to host South Korean K League 1 side FC Seoul in an AFC Champions League Two group stage match on Wednesday night at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

Melbourne Victory enters the fixture following a penalty shootout loss to South Melbourne FC in the Australia Cup final. Despite that result, the club maintains an unbeaten record in its inaugural AFC Champions League Two campaign, having previously secured a 1-1 draw against Vietnam’s Thể Công–Viettel. Head coach Giovanni Savarese indicated that team selection for Wednesday may be decided at the last minute due to a congested schedule, including an upcoming A-League Men season opener against Wellington Phoenix.

FC Seoul, led by manager Kim Gi-dong, is currently competing for its first K League 1 title in a decade. The club has a storied history in South Korean football, having won multiple championships since its inception in 1984.
