Good Food unveils 2026 list of 100 essential Sydney and Melbourne cafés

Good Food Guide has published its 2026 selection of 100 essential cafés and bakeries across Sydney and Melbourne. The list highlights new venues drawing crowds, remixing classic dishes and expanding the city‑wide coffee and pastry culture.

One featured Melbourne entry is Dulce Bakehouse, a family‑run South American bakery in the north‑western suburbs. Known for a vanilla slice topped with dulce de leche and for empanadas that blend Chilean influences with Australian tastes, the shop has attracted steady queues since opening in 2017. Good Food’s reviews are conducted anonymously and venues cannot pay for inclusion.

The guide’s rollout will be staggered over the coming fortnight, with individual stories on each of the 100 locations.
