Melchor Ocampo Primary School flooded by sewage in Oaxaca

Sewage flooding has inundated the Melchor Ocampo Primary School in the El Arenal neighborhood of San Martín Mexicapan, Oaxaca. Parents and teachers reported that wastewater invaded the school courtyard during the night of Thursday and the early hours of Friday, creating significant sanitary risks, foul odors, and potential infection points for the 177 students enrolled at the institution.

Local residents noted that drainage collapses at the intersection of Juventino Rosas and Hidalgo streets have been a recurring issue for months. In response to the crisis, Ceabien announced the deployment of a brigade to remove the standing water using specialized GapVax equipment to ensure safe conditions for students to return to classes.
