Meleap expands AR sport HADO to Japanese schools

Japanese ed‑tech firm Meleap is rolling out its augmented‑reality sport HADO in additional schools. A trial class at Shirozakura Elementary School in Nakano, Tokyo, involved three fifth‑grade classes, with 98.5 % of pupils rating the session as "very fun" and 97 % saying they would like to try it again. The activity combines head‑mounted displays and wrist sensors, letting students engage in strategic team play regardless of physical ability.

Later in August, Meleap announced that HADO will be introduced at Seiwō Gakuen Middle and High School in Hanno, Saitama. The program is intended to foster communication, teamwork and strategic thinking in physical education and extracurricular events, offering an inclusive alternative for students who are less inclined toward traditional sports.
