Melek Ancın, 18-year-old football player, dies in Alanya motorcycle accident

Melek Ancın, an 18-year-old football player for the Corendon Alanyaspor women’s team, died following a motorcycle accident in Alanya. The incident occurred around 02:30 on a Saturday at the Dim Tunnel on the Alanya East Ring Road.

Ancın lost control of her motorcycle for undetermined reasons, causing it to strike the tunnel barriers. Despite medical interventions, she succumbed to her injuries. Ancın, who was born in July 2008, had recently graduated from Hasan Çolak Anatolian High School and had been admitted to Dokuz Eylül University.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident. The Dim Tunnel, a 1.6-kilometer stretch of the Alanya-Gazipaşa route, has been the site of previous motorcycle accidents, including a fatal incident in February 2026.
