Melih Işık becomes first Down syndrome student at Bursa Uludağ University

Melih Işık, a 19-year-old student with Down syndrome, has become the first and only student with Down syndrome enrolled in the Coaching Department of the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Bursa Uludağ University. Currently in his second year, Işık is pursuing his goal of becoming a professional coach while managing a successful athletic career.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Işık is a member of the national table tennis team. He recently achieved international success at the Down Syndrome World Table Tennis Championships held in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he won two bronze medals: one in the mixed doubles category and another in the men's team category. He also recently secured second place in a competition held in Konya.
