Melilla opposition leader demands end to protocol ticket allocations

Amín Azmani, president of the local party Somos Melilla, has called on the government of Juan José Imbroda to stop the discretionary distribution of protocol tickets for concerts financed by the autonomous city. Azmani demanded that the culture councilor, Fadela Mohatar, disclose how many seats are blocked, the criteria used, and the recipients of these tickets. He highlighted that in the 2025 Luis Fonsi concert, 612 protocol tickets—16% of the venue’s capacity—were allocated, valued at over €12,000. Azmani proposes a rule limiting protocol tickets to 5% of total capacity, with any exceptions explicitly authorized, and urges the city to publish detailed ticket data on the Transparency Portal after each event.
