Melissa & Doug recalls fire truck toys due to choking hazard

Melissa & Doug is recalling approximately 84,000 Lights & Sounds Fire Truck Activity Boards due to a potential choking hazard. The toys, which were sold exclusively at Target stores and online between July 2025 and August 2026, feature a black fire hose port that can loosen and detach.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that the detachable component poses a risk to children. To date, there have been 26 reports of the port coming loose and one report of a minor cut.

Consumers can identify affected units by checking the date wheels on the battery compartment cover or specific date codes on the packaging. Affected customers are eligible for a free replacement, a refund of $29.95 plus tax, or store credit.
