Melissa Gilbert Discusses Little House Revival and Husband’s Court Case

The Netflix reboot of Little House on the Prairie has revived public interest in the original 1974 series, prompting updates on former cast members. Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura Ingalls, recapped her extensive acting career, noted she will not return to Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart citing budget constraints, and defended the new series despite fan debates over historical accuracy.

Gilbert also voiced continued support for her husband, actor Timothy Busfield, after he was indicted on multiple counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor. She told ABC, "he is the last person in the world who would hurt a child," emphasizing her trust in him with family members.
