Melissa Granum launches Delta First election platform

Mayoral candidate Melissa Granum has launched the ‘Delta First Platform’, a four-year plan focused on government accountability, affordability, and managed urban growth. The platform aims to restore trust in city hall through several key initiatives, including an enforceable Council Code of Conduct with independent oversight, the return of public question periods at council meetings, and the re-establishment of citizen advisory committees.

Economic and infrastructure priorities within the plan include a ‘zero-based’ budget review, improved financial reporting, and long-term infrastructure planning to ensure services like roads, utilities, and emergency services keep pace with population growth. Granum also pledged to pursue cost containment at Metro Vancouver and maintain disciplined decisions regarding taxes and utilities.
