Melissa Grelo departs ‘The Social’ as CTV show shifts to video podcast

CTV has announced that the Canadian daytime series ‘The Social’ will be reimagined as a video podcast for its 14th season. The new format will be filmed on the show’s Toronto set without a studio audience. The program will stream live on YouTube at 1:00 p.m. ET, with recorded one-hour episodes broadcasting on CTV at 2:00 p.m. ET. The show will also be available on Crave, iHeart.com, and the iHeartRadio Canada app.

Co-host Melissa Grelo is departing the series after 13 seasons to focus on her own health and wellness podcast, ‘Aging Powerfully with Melissa Grelo.’ Grelo expressed gratitude to CTV for her career opportunities but noted the desire to connect more directly with audiences through her own platform. Remaining co-hosts Jess Allen, Andrea Bain, and Cynthia Loyst will continue with the show.
