Melissa Jefferson-Wooden wins 100m at Silesia Diamond League

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden won the women’s 100m at the Diamond League meeting in Silesia, Poland, clocking a season-best 10.78 seconds at Stadion Śląski. The victory ended the unbeaten season start of Olympic champion Julien Alfred, who finished second in a season-best 10.83 seconds.

American Sha’Carri Richardson took third place with a time of 10.96 seconds. This race marked the first meeting between Jefferson-Wooden and Alfred since the previous year’s World Championships in Tokyo.

Jefferson-Wooden’s recent dominance, including her 2025 world title and consistent performances in the Diamond League, has positioned her as a primary contender in the pursuit of the 100m world record, currently held by Florence Griffith-Joyner at 10.49 seconds.
