Melita and Antonia Abraham qualify for Rowing World Championship final
Chilean rowers Melita and Antonia Abraham have qualified for the final of the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam. Competing in the women's coxless pair category, the sisters secured second place in their semifinal heat.
In a closely contested race, the Abraham sisters narrowly defeated the Italian duo of Laura Mediano and Alice Codato in the final meters to claim second place. They were surpassed only by the Romanian pair, Adriana Adam and Simona Radiș, who set a time of 7:20.94.
This marks the second time in their careers that the sisters have reached a senior world championship final. They previously achieved a fifth-place finish in the 2023 edition. The final race for the podium is scheduled to take place this Friday at 10:28 AM Chilean time.
