Melon and watermelon prices rise in Castilla-La Mancha
Prices for melon and watermelon have increased across all traded categories according to the Price Table of the Lonja Agropecuaria Hortofrutícola y de Cereales de Castilla-La Mancha. This upward trend follows the progression of the current agricultural campaign.
For melons, the most significant rise was seen in the extra category, which increased from 0.50–0.54 euros per kilo to 0.68–0.72 euros per kilo, a jump of 0.18 euros. First-category melons rose to 0.50–0.54 euros per kilo, while second-category melons increased to 0.26–0.30 euros per kilo.
Watermelon prices also saw widespread increases. Seedless black watermelon in the first category reached 0.46–0.50 euros per kilo, up 0.10 euros from the previous week. Second-category seedless black watermelon rose from 0.13–0.15 euros to 0.21–0.25 euros per kilo. White watermelons followed a similar pattern, with first-category varieties reaching 0.46–0.50 euros per kilo and second-category varieties reaching 0.21–0.25 euros per kilo.
