Melsen Fonden seeks candidates for nursing home worker grants

Melsen Fonden is seeking candidates for 11 new grants, each valued at 10,000 DKK, to honor social and health assistants and social and health helpers working in nursing homes in North Jutland. The foundation aims to recognize these healthcare workers for their significant contributions to elderly care, noting that they often receive insufficient praise compared to other professional groups.

Following unsuccessful attempts to solicit nominations directly from North Jutland municipalities, the foundation is now turning to the media to increase visibility. The initiative has received support from the FOA labor union in North Jutland, with chairperson Anja Søe describing the grants as a well-deserved acknowledgment of the vital work performed by union members.

Nominations can be submitted by employees, residents, or relatives of residents at municipal nursing homes in the region. The deadline for nominations is October 15.
