CASHCAT meme coin surges 2,000% amid Robinhood chain activity and Binance sell‑off

Cash Cat (CASHCAT), a cat‑themed meme token, jumped roughly 2,000% in a single week, moving from under $0.01 and a $3 million market cap to about $0.17 and a valuation just under $200 million. The rally lifted the coin to the 176th‑largest cryptocurrency and made it the 16th‑biggest meme coin by market capitalization. The surge is closely linked to the launch of Robinhood’s new blockchain, where CASHCAT quickly became the flagship trading asset, drawing heavy transaction volume and deep liquidity.

Binance listed CASHCAT in its perpetual futures market, offering up to 10× leverage, which amplified both upside potential and liquidation risk. Large‑scale purchases were reported, including one anonymous trader spending over $900,000 (≈519 ETH) to acquire 6.1 million CASHCAT tokens. Meanwhile, Binance‑wide meme‑coin trading recorded more than $1.2 billion of net selling pressure since Bitcoin’s October 2025 peak, reflecting broader risk‑off sentiment in the meme‑token sector.

Industry voices expressed caution. Artemis CEO Jon Ma warned that the Robinhood chain could become a “meme‑coin chain” that risks eroding user trust. At the same time, the MemeCon conference explored the structural impact of meme coins, debating whether community‑driven tokens can evolve into sustainable, utility‑focused assets.
