Bangkok ranked top global destination for workations
The International Workplace Group (IWG) has released its fourth annual "Work from Anywhere Index," identifying the top global destinations for "workations"—a trend combining remote work with travel.
Bangkok has been ranked as the world's top destination for 2026, followed by Tokyo and Barcelona. The ranking evaluates cities based on internet speed, climate, accommodation and transport costs, cultural richness, and the availability of coworking spaces. Other top-ten cities include Porto, Vancouver, Budapest, Naples, Medellín, Lisbon, and Seoul.
French cities also appear in the global top 50, with Montpellier ranked 16th, Paris 33rd, and Biarritz 40th. A supplementary study of 2,000 employees in the UK and US confirms sustained interest in these flexible working models.
