Memmingen Airport police intercept mother using fake medical emergency for school truancy

At Memmingen Airport, police intercepted a 38-year-old woman attempting to fly to Pristina with her three children using fraudulent excuses to bypass school attendance laws. The mother had presented school leave certificates for two of the children, citing a fabricated medical emergency in Kosovo.

Authorities discovered the deception when they noted the flight had been booked several months in advance, contradicting the claim of an immediate emergency. Consequently, the schools revoked the leave permissions, and the local school office was notified. The mother faces a fine for the violation of compulsory education laws. While the family was permitted to proceed with their journey, police noted that inspections for truancy are frequent at the airport, particularly around holiday periods.

In a separate incident in Waidhaus, federal police prevented three unauthorized entries involving forged identity cards and the discovery of marijuana, though this is a distinct matter from the airport incident.
