At the former Nazi concentration camp Buchenwald near Weimar, a memorial ceremony is held on Sunday at 13:30 to commemorate the 81st anniversary of its liberation. The memorial address will be delivered by comedian Hape Kerkeling, whose grandfather was imprisoned at the camp. The memorial foundation says that greetings will be spoken by Culture State Minister Wolfram Weimer (nonpartisan) and Thuringia's state parliament president Thadäus König (CDU).
