Memorial Marco Pantani cycling race announced for September 12
The 23rd edition of the Memorial Marco Pantani, an international professional cycling race, has been announced. Scheduled for September 12, the 192-kilometer course will start in Riccione and conclude in Cesenatico.
The route is designed to honor the late champion by traversing the hills of the Romagna region where he trained. Key segments include ascents in Verucchio and the Passo del Grillo di Gorolo, as well as a challenging climb on via Felloniche with gradients reaching 18%.
Twenty-five teams are registered for the event, including ten WorldTour teams such as Bahrain Victorious, Movistar Team, and Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. The race will pass by the Pantani family home before finishing on a city circuit in Cesenatico. In 2026, the event is set to be part of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni.
