Memorial services held for Enrique Angelelli and Miguel Uribe Turbay

In Argentina, the city of Chascomús held commemorative activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Monsignor Enrique Angelelli and his companions. The ceremonies included the blessing of a statue in a public plaza, the planting of an olive tree, and the unveiling of a mural dedicated to the four members of the Riojan community killed in 1976: Angelelli, Carlos de Dios Murias, Gabriel Longueville, and Wenceslao Pedernera. The religious acts were led by Bishop Juan Ignacio Liébana.

In Colombia, tributes were held to honor the memory of former Senator and presidential pre-candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay on the first anniversary of his death. Following a mass in Bogotá, a monument was unveiled in a park renamed in his honor. The event, which commemorated the legislator killed in a June 2025 attack, included statements of recognition from President Abelardo de la Espriella and other political figures.
