Memorials mark ten years since passing of Juan de Mena and Diego Ruiz

Various tributes are being held to mark the ten-year anniversaries of the passing of two influential figures in their respective communities.

In Spain, the basketball community in Zamora is remembering Juan Ángel de Mena. De Mena was a fundamental figure in the development of the Zamarat women's basketball club. Starting from school-level play in 1994, his involvement helped transform the project from a group of schoolgirls into a professional club and a sporting reference in the region.

In Argentina, tributes mark the ten-year anniversary of the death of Diego Alberto Ruiz, known as a “street chronicler” and historian. Ruiz was a significant figure in Buenos Aires, particularly in the Boedo and Parque de los Patricios neighborhoods, where he specialized in uncovering local history and social roots through his storytelling and historical research.
