Memory of Our Theatre exhibition opens in Istanbul

The ‘Memory of Our Theatre’ exhibition has opened at the Yaşar Kemal Cultural Center, hosted by the Maltepe Municipality in Istanbul. The exhibition features rare works, documents, posters, and ephemera from the personal archive of collector Vural Arlıer, which he has meticulously compiled over many years.

Curated by Savaş Güller, the exhibition is being held in conjunction with the 8th International Theatre Festival, an event that hosts theatre groups from nearly 30 countries. The opening ceremony was attended by various figures from the arts community, including actress Alev Oraloğlu, who served as the guest of honor and spoke about the history of the Oraloğlu Theatre.

During the event, Arlıer discussed the process of gathering these invaluable historical materials, while Maltepe Deputy Mayor Cevahir Efe Akçelik highlighted the historical development and milestones of Turkish theatre.
