Memphis Depay trains with Dutch squad ahead of 2026 World Cup

Dutch striker Memphis Depay, who plays for Brazil's Corinthians, participated in the Netherlands' first training session for the 2026 World Cup at the KNVB Campus in Zeist. The session, overseen by coach Ronald Koeman, was open to the public and drew about 1,500 spectators. Depay became the first player from Brazil's top league to be selected for a European national team at a World Cup, adding to his record as the Dutch all‑time top scorer.

During the same preparation period, teammate Denzel Dumfries praised Depay's fitness, noting he looked “fit” and “in good condition.” Depay emphasized that while data is monitored, overall fitness and quality remain paramount as the squad endures a demanding training schedule ahead of the tournament.

The Netherlands are drawn in Group F for the competition, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada, with their opening match set for 14 June against Japan.
