Memphis Grizzlies acquire Jerami Grant in trade for Ja Morant

The Memphis Grizzlies have acquired veteran forward Jerami Grant in a trade that sent Ja Morant to the Portland Trail Blazers. Grant, 32, brings 12 years of NBA experience to a Memphis roster currently in a rebuilding phase.

During his four seasons with Portland, Grant averaged 18.8 points per game and developed into a reliable three-point shooter, recording a 39% success rate from beyond the arc. His ability to space the floor could provide significant offensive support for Memphis players like Cameron Boozer and Zach Edey.

There is ongoing discussion regarding Grant's optimal position. While he has primarily played power forward in recent years, the Grizzlies' roster depth at that position—including players like Boozer, Karim Lopez, and GG Jackson—may require him to transition to small forward to secure consistent playing time.
