Memphis Grizzlies acquire Jordan Hawkins in trade with Pelicans
The Memphis Grizzlies have acquired guard Jordan Hawkins from the New Orleans Pelicans in a multi-player trade. As part of the deal, the Grizzlies are also receiving Micah Peavy and two second-round draft assets, including a future second-round pick and a pick swap right.
In exchange, the Pelicans will receive AJ Johnson and Taj Gibson.
Hawkins, a former standout at the University of Connecticut and the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has seen fluctuating production in his professional career. After averaging 10.8 points per game in his second season, his output decreased to 5.1 points per game in his most recent season with New Orleans. In Memphis, he joins a roster that includes fellow former UConn player Cam Spencer.
