Memphis and UAB prepare for Battle for the Bones rivalry game

college football Battle for the Bones Memphis Tigers UAB Blazers American Athletic Conference

The University of Memphis and UAB Blazers are set to compete in the 19th iteration of the ‘Battle for the Bones’ rivalry game this Saturday at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The matchup features Memphis, holding a 4-1 record, against UAB, who sits at 3-2.

Memphis aims to reclaim the rivalry trophy, which they lost last season. The Tigers are currently on a three-game winning streak, led by quarterback Marcus Stokes, who was recently named the American Conference Offensive Player of the Week following a high-scoring performance against Charlotte.

The rivalry extends beyond the football field, including a long-standing barbecue competition between fans that has been a fixture of the matchup since 2006.
