MENCATUR 2026 fair boosts rural economy in Villanueva de la Fuente

The 23rd edition of MENCATUR, a fair dedicated to hunting, rural tourism, craftsmanship, and local products, is being held in Villanueva de la Fuente, Ciudad Real. The event serves as a major meeting point for the rural sector of Castilla-La Mancha.

The fair features approximately 90 exhibitors covering sectors such as gastronomy, technology, active tourism, nature, and hunting. Organizers anticipate around 50,000 visitors. Local authorities have noted the significant economic impact on the region, with local accommodations reaching near full capacity and increased activity in the hospitality and commerce sectors.

Mayor Luis Mendoza highlighted the fair's role in promoting the municipality and stimulating the economy of the Campo de Montiel region. For the second consecutive year, an agreement with the 'Tierras de Libertad' Rural Development Group has allowed more than 30 exhibitors from the area to participate free of charge.
