Menden celebrates 750th anniversary with official ceremony

The city of Menden celebrated its 750th anniversary on September 4 with a festive ceremony held at the Sparkassen-Bühne by the Old Town Hall Square. Despite rainy weather, numerous residents and guests attended the event.

Mayor Manuela Schmidt and North Rhine-Westphalia Minister-President Hendrik Wüst officially opened the jubilee weekend. The ceremony included various dignitaries, such as Bundestag member Paul Ziemiak and Landtag member Matthias Eggers. Delegations from Menden's partner cities in France and Lithuania were also in attendance. Mayor Schmidt highlighted the strong sense of community and connection demonstrated by the large turnout.
