Mendiolaza court upholds recall referendum process

The Superior Court of Justice has ratified a recall process in Mendiolaza, Argentina, following a legal challenge supported by more than 1,660 signatures. The ruling confirms that the citizens' right to express dissatisfaction is protected under Law 8102, the Constitution, and democratic principles.

The Local Electoral Board is now preparing for a popular consultation to decide the future of the municipal administration. A date for the plebiscite is expected to be officialized within the next 30 days, likely during December.

This decision follows a 14-month legal process that moved through municipal, provincial, and administrative courts. Local residents, who spent nearly three months collecting signatures, view the resolution as an institutional precedent.
